Young Company Digital Project for Ages 12 – 17
Mon 25 May
Calling all young theatre makers! Come and take part in our Young Company Digital Project.
Over five weeks starting from Mon 25 May, you will engage with the Lawrence Batley Theatre through online creative sessions and pre-recorded tutorials working towards the creation of our very own radio play exploring the theme of connection.
Our Young Company celebrates: theatre and theatre-making, young people’s voices, working together, developing new skills, and creating and devising together. During the lockdown period, we want to explore how we can still be creative together by trying new performance styles.
How Will It Work?
Places can be booked up until 9am on Mon 25 May. After this point, you will be sent an email from Olivia, our Creative Associate, at 5pm on Mon 25 May, Mon 1 June, Mon 8 June, Mon 15 June and Mon 22 June with a new creative task which will guide you through idea generation, writing, and performing for radio. Please remember to check your junk / spam folder for any emails.
Please note, on Mon 22 June we’re hoping to have a live digital workshop where we’ll rehearse our play together before we record it. We will send further information about how this session will run, and ensure we have your full consent, before we set up this live video workshop.
The fee of £25 covers the cost of one young person taking part in the project. £17 spaces are available for Kirklees Passport holders. If the cost of the project is a barrier, please email our Participation Manager, Rebecca Winwood – firstname.lastname@example.org
When booking, please consider making a donation to the theatre. Your donations will go towards helping others take part in this project.
You don’t need to be an existing member of our Young Company to take part, anyone is welcome! At the end of the project the play will be edited together for us to enjoy listening to.
