Self-Care Workshop for Artists
Mon 15 Jun 20
This will be an interactive, small group session with theatre maker and performer Victoria Firth from 7pm on Mon 15 June that provides reflective time, provocation, some writing exercises and peer support around exploring and articulating self-care needs.
It is particularly aimed at theatre makers and performers, those who self-produce their work, solo artists, those exploring auto-biographical material or using their own identity in performance. We will look at self-care in relation to the making process, the sharing process and particularly relevant for now – the in-between work time. The outcome being that you come away more consciousness about what self-care means for you, you are more confident to prioritise it and practically able to plan it into projects. This is a pilot workshop so we will be exploring the form of this conversation together and you will be asked to give feedback after the session.
Victoria Firth is a theatre maker and performer. Her one woman show ‘How to be amazingly happy!’ has toured nationally and she performs regularly at cabaret events as a storyteller and with her comedy alter ego ‘The Soothsayer’. She also provides well-being support and mentoring to other artists and writes on the topic of self-care. www.victoriafirth.co.uk
