We are delighted to announce that a new programme of work aimed at nurturing the next generation of talent in Huddersfield and Kirklees is being sponsored by our Corporate Partner, Syngenta.

The programme of work will engage young people and emerging creatives across monthly Masterclasses, two day-long Summer Sessions and a week-long Theatre Bootcamp.

The work will invest in local young people, offering access to creative opportunities and supporting routes into the creative industries. We are committed to investing in the next generation of talent in Huddersfield, developing career prospects and a new talent pool of future creative professionals in our town.

Syngenta has a long history of supporting our work with local communities and we are delighted that they are continuing to support our investment in local young people.

Becky Atkinson, Chief Executive of Lawrence Batley Theatre said

“We think it’s so important that young people have opportunities to gain skills and experience on their doorstep. We are really pleased to be working with Syngenta to invest in and help develop the next generation of Huddersfield born arts professionals.”

Carl Sykes, Community Relations Manager at Syngenta said

“As a global science company helping farmers grow the food we need, Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, (STEM) are core traits in our business. But also central to our business is innovation, valuing diversity, inclusion and embracing new ways of thinking. Our partnership with Lawrence Batley Theatre in this exciting project gives young people an opportunity to express themselves, identify their talents and hopefully set them on a pathway to making an important contribution to the creative sector. It is these opportunities for enrichment that promote our community as a progressive place to live and work.”
