Schedule
A week-long crash course in creating, making, selling and performing in a show. The week will be an amazing experience for anyone interested in theatre and all participants will receive an Arts Award as part of the experience which is a recognised qualification with Trinity College London.
Day 1
We’ll kick start the week with a backstage tour of the theatre, meeting many of the theatre team and artists you'll be working. Then the brainstorming begins, working as a group we’ll come up with an idea for our show and start to make decisions about what it might look and sound like.
Day 2
We'll work together to split into teams - who wants to perform? Direct? Who wants to run the sound or special effects? Who wants to help sell the show to an audience? Everyone will get a role which fits their interests and expertise.
Day 3
We will work hard to develop our short show, working with professional theatre and movement experts to perfect our product. Practice makes perfect!
Day 4
We’ll work with the technical department to ensure we have all sound, lighting and effects nailed down. The marketing team will also think of strategies to get people to our show - online, print, a pop-up street preview?
Day 5
Show time! It’s time to debut our show outside on our Courtyard Stage, first as a curtain raiser to the popular Dinky Disco: Festival Style! event in the morning and then a second performance for friends, family and passing audience that afternoon!
