Our annual Christmas Heroes appeal is back, and we need your help! This festive season, you can help bring the joy and magic of live theatre to hundreds of local children and their families right here in Kirklees.
Pantomime is often a child’s very first experience of live theatre, but for many families in Kirklees, it’s simply not possible without your support. That’s where our Christmas Heroes appeal makes a difference. With your support, we can welcome families who need it most and give them the chance to enjoy the laughter, excitement and magic of pantomime together.
Every year, your generosity helps us open our doors to families who might not otherwise be able to enjoy a festive trip to the theatre. Last year, thanks to the kindness of local people and businesses, hundreds of children experienced the laughter, music, and wonder of pantomime, for many this was their first time to make lasting memories.
“I cannot express how grateful we are to be able to give some of our children this opportunity as many will never have this. All the children were smiling on the way home and the coach was electric with the children excitedly talking about the afternoon”.
Let’s Make 2026 the Best Year Yet
This year we want to make our appeal the biggest yet! This means bringing more families on a magical carpet ride to the theatre to see our spectacular pantomime, Aladdin. Packed with incredible effects, dazzling costumes, laugh-out-loud comedy and show-stopping musical numbers, it’s set to be an unforgettable experience for all.

Your donation can help create this special memory for children and their families in our community who might not otherwise have the chance to attend the theatre.
For every £20 donated we can bring one child to the theatre complete with a VIP ticket, show programme, and a free ice cream. Your donation can grant the wish of a full theatre experience – an unforgettable gift during the festive season.
How to Donate
Your support really does make a difference. Whether you can donate £20 to cover one child’s experience or give a little more, every contribution helps.
You can donate online, at our Box Office, or by cheque (made out to Lawrence Batley Theatre with “Christmas Heroes” in the memo).
We are raising funds so we can bring children and their families to experience the joy of theatre over the festive season. If we have donations left after the appeal, we will use your donations to support other areas of our charitable work.
