Our annual Christmas Heroes appeal is back, and we need your help! This festive season, you can help bring the joy and magic of live theatre to hundreds of local children and their families right here in Kirklees.
Pantomime is often a child’s very first experience of live theatre, but for many families in Kirklees, it’s simply not possible without your support. With your help, our Christmas Heroes appeal ensures that those in our community who need it most can share in the joy, laughter, and magic of the festive season.
Every year, your generosity helps us open our doors to families who might not otherwise be able to enjoy a festive trip to the theatre. Last year, thanks to the kindness of local people and businesses, hundreds of children experienced the laughter, music, and wonder of pantomime, many for the very first time.

Full of incredible effects, lavish costumes, a side-splitting script and big musical numbers, it promises to be an unforgettable experience for all.
How You Can Be a Christmas Hero
Your donation can help create this special memory for children and their families in our community who might not otherwise have the chance to attend the theatre.
For every £20 donated, we can bring one child to the theatre, complete with a VIP ticket, show programme, and a free ice cream. Your donation can help give them the full theatre experience – an unforgettable gift during the festive season.
How to Donate
Your support really does make a difference. Whether you can donate £20 to cover one child’s experience or give a little more, every contribution helps.
You can donate online, at our Box Office, or by cheque (made out to Lawrence Batley Theatre with “Christmas Heroes” in the memo).
We are raising funds so we can bring children and their families to experience the joy of theatre over the festive season. If we have donations left after the appeal, we will use your donations to support other areas of our charitable work.
