Summer Sessions: 12 - 17 Years

Book

Looking for things to do in Huddersfield this summer? Taking place during the school break, these exciting youth theatre workshops offer a rare chance for young people to explore how magic is made in our theatre – before making a bit themselves!

Our Summer Sessions are one-day drama workshops for young people aged 12–17, packed with summer fun and hands-on creative experiences.

What to expect

Join National Theatre Connections and playwright Nicola Baldwin for a hands-on, behind-the-scenes workshop that lifts the curtain on how new plays are brought to life.

You’ll work directly with a playwright, a dramaturg, and a director to explore how characters are created, how a script is shaped for an ensemble, and how different theatre roles work together to develop a story. You’ll also get the chance to share your ideas and feedback on a brand new play written specifically for young performers, and help shape its next stage of development.

Who Summer Sessions are for

Both welcoming and inclusive, Summer Sessions are ideal for children of all levels – whether they’re new to drama or already a budding star. It’s a brilliant way to make new friends, learn fun theatre facts, and enjoy a memorable day of summer fun in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Perfect for families in Kirklees looking for kids’ days out, kids’ classes, or a fun way to try acting for kids this summer in Huddersfield.
