Neville Fleetwood 1932 - 2021

Celebrate the life and work of renowned Yorkshire artist Neville Fleetwood in this vibrant exhibition showcasing some of his most striking pieces.

Based in Brighouse, Neville forged a national reputation for his bold still life and expressive landscapes, building a loyal following across the UK and internationally. His work now features in collections around the world.

Known for his dynamic use of colour and instinctive composition, Neville’s paintings often suspend objects in carefully balanced space, creating harmony and lasting visual interest. His landscapes, full of atmosphere and rich colour, depict rolling patchwork fields with a distinctive energy and warmth.

A natural colourist, Neville worked predominantly in acrylics, favouring the fresh, vibrant quality they allowed. His technique combined broad brushstrokes with palette knife textures, resulting in layered, expressive surfaces that reveal his fascination with the juxtaposition of colour.

Neville drew inspiration from British artists such as Barbara Rae and William Selby, and this exhibition offers an opportunity to view the work of an artist whose legacy continues to inspire.
