The Confession of Rebecca West is part of Common Grounds Festival, a festival of theatre from 3rd year BA(Hons) Acting and Performance students at University of Huddersfield.
Travel back to 1645, to a world gripped by fear. Rumours run rampant in a village, and an accusation of witchcraft is made against young Rebecca West, a girl caught between fear, faith, and survival. At the centre stands the self-appointed Witchfinder General Matthew Hopkins, a man whose relentless pursuits blur the lines between justice and obsession.
Blending historical accounts with dramatic storytelling, this production explores power, paranoia, and the cost of living in a world encapsulated by suspicion.
