This brand-new play from Mikron Theatre, bursting with original songs, invites you to join the East Riding Mobile Library in a celebration of community, culture, caravans, and peas.
From Bempton to Bridlington, Hornsea to Howden, explore a region barely noticed by the nation it feeds, eroded by the pounding North Sea, can a mobile library -with its complex web of rural stops (and somewhat erratic engine) - pull together the Riding's finest yarns?
Hop aboard the most charmingly quirky mobile library you'll ever encounter and dive into chapters that teem with the lives of then and now. From the rolling Wolds to the wild North Sea, discover a place where connection to the land is ingrained, culture is as organic as its produce, and the sea reminds us that we stand on the cliff-edge of a much bigger story.
This laugh-out-loud quest through a patchwork of culture and community celebrates the forgotten, the resilient, and the wonderfully eccentric.

Top of the Wold is part of Summer in the Courtyard, our outdoor festival of entertainment.
This is a seated event which takes place outdoors in our courtyard and will go ahead whatever the weather.
We're Northern so we don't shy away from a bit of rain. We encourage you to come with jackets so we can all enjoy the show come rain or shine. Adverse weather conditions will be monitored.

Integrated Audio Description
Every performance of Top of the Wold has integrated audio description, which means that we have worked hard to make the play enjoyable and interesting to listen to for all audiences without the need for headsets.
Touch Tour
There is a touch tour available for Top of the Wold on Thu 2 July at 5:30pm. When you add your tickets to the basket for the performance, there will be the option to book on the touch tour at the same time.
In partnership with the company, touch tours allows audience members to be led on stage to familiarise themselves with specific props and elements of the set. Touch tours are free but must be booked in advance.
