412 and Lawrence Batley Theatre invite you to a brand-new festival of original writing celebrating the extraordinary creativity of West Yorkshire voices.
Curated by our Associate Artist Philip Stokes—an acclaimed playwright recognised by the British Library whose credits include Jesus, Jane, Mother & Me and Shellshocked —Northern Fanfare premieres thrilling new plays written by local playwrights Gareth Durasow, Thomas Carruthers and Stokes himself.
Expect a darkly comic Dickensian ghost story, a sharp and heartfelt supernatural comedy, and an audacious psychological thriller presented across three nights in our Cellar Theatre.
This exciting showcase of local talent offers audiences the chance to encounter bold, powerful storytelling at its freshest created right here in the region.
After each show as part of Northern Fanfare there will be a post-show talk where you can hear from the writers and performers.
