David Spicer’s mad Shakespearean mash-up will have you rolling in the aisles and the Bard turning in his grave and show that the course of true theatre never did run smooth!

Six actors meet up to do Shakespeare the way Shakespeare himself would have done Shakespeare: learning their parts separately and then meeting up on the day to go through entrances and exits, fights and jigs. However, due to a breakdown in communications, each actor has learnt a different play but rather than abandon the performance, they carry on regardless convincing themselves that the audience won’t notice.

The Northern Comedy Theatre have won 6 On Comms and a special one off award from Off West End along with the Scenesaver Birthday Honours Award for Best Ensemble. Doing Shakespeare has been nominated for an Off West End award for Best Costume Design.
